Hi everyone. I just got a Rollei Giro 105 from a camera shop for free. It seems to work fine.. It can zoom in and out and it reacts on all the buttons besides the trigger button.
When i press the trigger button, there's a little green light besides the seeker blinking, but thats all that happens.
I even tried putting film in it, but the same happened.
That the zoom is functioning already is a sign that seemingly the battery is good enough. That you loaded a film is a good idea too, some models block the release if no film is loaded.
Did the the camera transport the film up to first frame after closing the back door?
You might give it a try pointing the camera at something further away, something very close close might bring the autofocus out of its range and block the release.
Models of these kind sometimes can be surprising; I myself went through the above when prematurely I tended to declare it dead.

Yes, the camera transported the film to first frame and i was also able to rewind the film, to take it out again.
Maybe you're right about the outofocus. I tried it in a bit of a low light condition, so im gonna try again in daylight and with a film in.
