I just found this little flash in a box of goodies a friend gave me and I am rather curious about it. I just did a search and nothing of importance or relevance came up.

Any info is appreciated.

I vaguely recall testing the trigger voltage on one of these that my brother owned a few years back. I don't recall the exact result but I recall it being quite high. Here's a page of trigger voltages and some info regarding issues with modern camera circuits.

The Rollei Beta series of flashguns was made during the Singapore years, the Beta 1 was the baby of the family. They are distinctive for having that "forward lean" which is something of a "love it or hate it" feature. I haven't seen enough of them so as to make a conclusive comment but I had one for a while, bought since new, and it was ok, but not in the same league as contemporary Unomat, for instance.
