Rollei 6008AF & Pocket Wizard --Settings or Rollei Firmware?

I am trying to equalize my Rollei 6008AF with a 35mm camera so that I can record the same picture with both cameras. I have a Pocket WizardMulti Max, and equalization is just one of many features. The equalization procedure works perfectly on 6001 Professional and 6003 SRC bodies:

The 6001 body times perfectly after pre-release at 0.0036 seconds with a PQ lens and 0.0019 seconds with a PQS lens.

The 6008AF, set to manual focus, is a different story. After pre-release, it correctly shows "QR" for quick release. Push the test button on the Pocket Wizard and nothing happens except the display flips to normal from "QR" (camera doesn't fire) and the function times out after 2 seconds. I used to do very complicated setups with Rolleis, PocketWizards and strobes in arenas, so I'm more than a little annoyed that I can't figure this out. Note that I did a reset on the 6008AF, and nothing changed.

Is all firmware updated? I have a different model PocketWizard and no Rollie experience so just guessing. It sounds like what you are trying to do should be possible. Does the 6008 function correctly by itself? I would thoroughly investigate the 6008 and radio trigger individually to be sure it does what you want. Then bring it into the loop with another camera. Do you have other cameras besides the 6001 and 6003 to try with the 6008? Like a digital camera?

Everything works correctly except for the lag timing function with the 6008AF. I'll use the 6001 and leave it unsolved for now.

A note for users who find this in the future: equalizing with a Sony A7 raises a host of different problems. The Sony's lag time is affected by the aperture it needs to stop down the lens to. I'm hopeful that LPA will release cords for Sony that will support the half-press "awake" function and that may help. Brennan
