What's a reasonable price for a Sonnar-equipped Rollei 35S/SE. I wouldn't pay more for a made in Germany one.

How much is it worth to you?

To me it was worth 100 GBP for a good one.

depends on condition/cosmetics. Good working order, decent (no dents) cosmetics, maybe $150 or so, depending. They have a cachet, although not as quick to use as an Olympus XA because of no rangefinder.

It is one of those items on ebay that fluctuates in price. In the large scheme of things they are never all that expensive. People like to get between 225 and 300 USD for them. I bought one off ebay a few years ago that I felt I got a good deal at 200 and it looked good and the lens was pristine and the meter worked. However when I got it the shutter wasn't working right. As it was good in every other way and the lens was perfect I sent it to Krikor and had it fixed and it works perfectly to this day... though I really never use it and treat it as a novelty. I see there are quite a lot of them for sale on ebay. If you are worried about 50 dollars one way or the other then wait for a low minimum bid with no reserve and hope it doesn't need a CLA.

I have 1 that I never use. They are a bit small for my large clumsy fingers :whistling: :D

It was 1 of those purchases that really did not get though through before the purchase. I live in western Canada so the shipping will be priced accordingly. I have more photographs if interested.

The original Rollei35 is undoubtedly my favorite camera; on average, I paid $250. I had them all CLA'd which added to the cost, but well worth it to me.

I have a 35SE that I bought new in the early 80's. I would guess it is worth about $100, but I would not sell it. It has been with me on most of my trips and given me some great photos, some of them posted here. It is a bit hard to use until you learn to guess the focus, and requires a service now and then. They do wear out though, mine is nearing the end of its life. The negative spacing is a little uneven now due to worn gears, but I will use it until it dies.

If you can get a nice 35S for about the same I would do it. I think you will be happy.

Rollei 35's were the only ones from Germany. The 35T and S versions came from Singapore.
