I obtained this somewhat battered Rollei 35 LED at the camera show about ten years ago. Someone had dropped it a few times and the frame counter did not work. The cover was dented in two places and the ASA label was missing.
Turns out I found a new old-stock top for $5.
I had previously removed the top to fix the frame counter. This time, however, the wires to the top will be cut to make way for the new wires.
Wiring was not too difficult. There are red and blue wires for the ASA variable resistor and a black wire for the top contact of the battery. The red and blue wires can be re-soldered at their origins. The black wire, however, originates deep in the chassis, so a wire-to-wire connection will be made (as in the original; see the yellow to black connection).
Hello!
I have a Rollei 35 LED where this little cover in the viewfinder is loose and I was planning on repairing it.
Do you have any tips for things to do or avoid when disassembling the camera? It actually belongs to my father in law so I wanna make sure I don't damage it
Would be very grateful for any help here since I'm new to film cameras in general!
