Hi all,

I think this should be a very good lens but I am disappointed with it on the A6000. And no, it is not the adapter because I also have a 35-70 which performs excellently. Maybe it is hard to find a 50 1.4 in very good condition or this model has fungus on it or this PG MC version is not the one that I have seen so much talk about. The rain shot is at 1.4. The portrait at 5.6 and it was a bit sharper but nothing really good. The colour seems off for one. Thoughts?

They're front-focused. Look at the one of the girl; the window-frame in front of her is sharper than she is. Same with the thermometer. The concentric rings molded in the plastic cover are sharp, the numbers and lines inside are soft. That's not the lens's fault. How do you focus this? The adapter you used doesn't autofocus, does it? If manual focus, the focus confirmation in the viewfinder may be off.

Oh yes good point. I am using focus peaking on the Sony A6000 but maybe I need to pay more attention to it. Or it could be a fault in it. I will experiment..

Get a XD-11, find some b/w film and repeat the shots !

Well I won't be buying any new Minoltas. I have 3 of them already but they have film in them now and I am going to try them all with those Minolta lenses and get to see the results yes. It will help clarify things too.
