Rodinal on Plus X 7231 16mm film?

Hi,
I am planning to use some negative 16mm film for a pinhole project. After a research, I found out that the Plus X 7231 should be what I need.
I read this thread: (there was a url link here which no longer exists) and the data sheet from Kodak, but I still have a doubt:
Is the emulsion of the 7231 the same as the Tri-X sold as 35mm/120 rolls? I mean, can I use Rodinal (yes, I WANT coarse grain) on it using the recommended times as a starting point?

I've used Rodinal on Plus-X Kodak 5231 [likely the same emulsion as 7231], and it worked fine. Rodinal 1+100, 20C, 8 to 10 min. One inversion [or agitation cycle] per minute. The times I've given will be OK, you can adjust between those , depending on how dark you like your negatives.

I don't think your emulsion is similar to Tri-X.

I am not sure how close 5231/7231 is to still camera plus-x. As you will note the 7231 is rated at a lower speed, and is normaly developed to a different gamma than the still version.
The Plux-x reversal film(s) are different again.

PXN (Plus-X Negative Motion Picture Film, 7231) is quite different from PXP (Plus-X Pan Film for still cameras). But it is excellent. I think I like PXN a bit better for still work than PXP. You can use the same exposure and development guidelines for both. I'm not so sure about Rodinal for 16mm film. It depends on what you're looking for. The results will be sharp (although pinhole photos will always be somewhat fuzzy), but the grain will be very apparent and the gradation may be a bit harsh. That may be ideal, or you may want to try Xtol instead.
