P.S.
You can use 50 grams of acetominophen powder or 100 500mg Tylenol tablets crushed in place of the p_aminophenol if you double the amount of hydroxide.

EZ Rodinal

Is there a typo in the above phrase? (I mean the 100g of hydroxide)

Durn tootin' there is. I meant 100 g sodium sulfite. I suspect the mention of poyassium was also recognized as a typo.

I am also in Winnipeg. The issue is A&O (the German company who bought Agfa's chemical business out of bankruptcy) hasn't found a Canadian distributor yet (or so I was told when I inquired directly a few months ago).

Something doesn't compute with this.

In Vancouver, I've started to see new Agfa chemistry appearing on shelves. Lens & Shutter and Leos both have some.

They might be bringing it in directly, or from the States. Or maybe the distribution situation has just changed recently.

It's possible it's changed recently - although the store I mentioned above (Photo Central) used to be a major Agfa booster, to the point that their fluorescent sign on the building still says "Agfa" next to the store name One would think A&O (or their distributor) would attempt to notify former Agfa customers first if new stuff was available...

The owner is a die-hard film guy (although the store does sell digital stuff as well), and this is the 2nd person I've heard repeat that they've told customers it's currently unavailable to them, so to me it would make sense that stores in Canada that have A&O supplies have gotten them through "other" means. It's always possible this store either hasn't been notified or is unable to come to an agreement with a distributor, but given the owner's history and local reputation (especially if he's got customers asking for the product), it just seems unlikely to me that this would be the case.

Furthermore, 100 grams of sodium sulfite will not all dissolve in 500 ml of cold water. Better use about 60. Did I tell you I am in my 81st year of blundering through this mortal coil?
