Hi All,

I made some searches and found nothing specific on Rodinal Mixes higher than 1+100 (Pardon my search skills if there are any hehe)

anyway, would like to share some of my findings.

This is to test the estimated timing required to develop a sample shot from Kodak Tmax 400 B&W Film.

Environmental Conditions,
Indoor, Florescent Light (White) on top of camera as the only light source, gets dimmer towards the door.

Shooting / EQ
Mamiya 645 Pro TL + Mamiya-Sekor C 45mm F/2.8 N > Mounted on a Gitzo 1541T Tripod, supported by a Markins Q3T. Light metered on a Gossen Luna Pro-F light meter @ ISO 400 @ F5.6 = 1second exposure

Developing
1) Dilution of 1+167 used - 3ml Rodinal, 500ml Water @ 29C (Waters in Singapore & Malaysia - Asia regions are 29C off the tap, so we normally have to use various "cooling" methods or even ice cold water from the fridge to do 20C developments - a bit of a hassle for me imho)
2) Pre Wash Film
3) Rodinal fix @ 15min - First 20 Seconds light agitation, followed by 10 seconds of gentle agitation on every 1 minute
4) the usual other steps follows.

Tried to shoot this at minimal focusing distance to allow for bokeh and tones to flow through at the back **hopefully

For the test shot I try to include areas which are black, a tone of shadows, highlights and "bokeh" where possible

The black spot on the left is a black board,
and the door is dark brown

ZOOOM

Here are some - real world results

Here are some more, using the same Mix!

Tmax 400
Rodinal 1+167
Hassy 40mm CF + 120 CF

1)

2)

3)

Next would be Tri-X 400

Now time to try some with Tri-X
Same methods and recipe as the Tmax film however lets see what happens at 15min dev time!

A bit over cooked. Domokuns turned into Famous Amos Cookies...

Having this tried only 8th roll of triX - Yes 1 roll everynight to R&D for that timing and Mix

Here is one at 13min
Straight from scan, V700 - profile Kodak Tri-X 400
Mamiya 645 Pro TL, Mamiya Seekor C 80mm F/1.9 @ F1.9
Metered ambient light using Gossen Luna Pro F @ ASA 400 to give a reading of F2 @ 1/8
Cam mounted on tripod, focused (assisted with torchlight lumination for easier focusing) focus to almost Minimal focusing distance.

Here is the pic.

Mid tones looks adequately reasonable? what you say??
