Rodinal Analysis at University Lab, Is there anything lab needed to know ?

I will visit two universities close to my home and their lab fees are low. Each of these universities have more than 40 Labs from Brain Research to Nano Technology and I will bring them Rodinal and Catechol developer.

I think they will apply spectroscopy first. Is there any trick to say to the lab guy to help ?

Developers will be at my hand in 3 weeks.

I am asking to experts if there would be a difficult , hard to understand or needed step to easy or save the analysis. Of course your expertise are playing the goethe.

I can , may be for free. Why not ? I gathered lots of analysises from these labs on Turkish Cymbals and it would be good.

Or Ilfochrome bleach. I still have some. Too bad the paper is gone. Stiill it might help answer one of the top question of the ages.

I will analyze whisky , it costs me 25 dollars to make 19 liters or say 40 pounds of whisky and it takes 30 seconds to flush all to sink after my mother orders - I am 43 years old by the way - and I will chemical engineer the same taste , same smell , non alcoholic , muslim world religious leaders approved, 19 liters costs 10 dollars whisky.

One could start with a substitute formula on this page:
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)
IIRC there was some question regarding the exact compounds used as restrainer and sequestering agent.
Existence of magic ingredients to slow oxidation has also been suggested.

But I do ask...what is the purpose of this analysis? Are you looking for differences/similarities between the two developers?

I only ask because I did an experiment with Caffenol, blending up a Caffenol-CM mix using cheap, mid-range, and expensive instant coffee to see if the running theory of 'the cheaper the instant coffee the better it develops' and found that the cheap does a good job, but the expensive stuff did much better.

the expensive did better because it was probably mostly robusta some robusta beans are quite delicious
and these days with the coffee crisis between the tropics of cancer and capricorn gaining steam
all coffee will expensive ... some say the robusta coffee has something in it to make it survive the
current coffee blight, maybe it is the same - je ne sais quois - that processes the film ?

i'm set though, i have a lot of green beans ready to roast ...

Mustafa what are you trying to do? Rodinalor equivialent recipes are not in the common domain,but they areavailable in books and oon the web.It's not as easy as to mix from bulk chemicals.There is a 'manufacturing process involved that has to be followed.

Actually "classic" Rodinal is not hard to mix. The formula contains only three ingredients. I have done it several times in the past when the actual Agfa product was hard to obtain. It is more difficult to obtain the three chemicals in small (kilogram) amounts.

In the early days of Rodinal Agfa were even forced by court decision to publish the formula on the Rodinal bottles in the US.
