Does anyone here know where I can get information on a Rodenstock Omegaron lens? I bought one as part of a package deal, and wonder how good it is, compared to a Componon, or other Rodenstock lenses. I assume it was marketed by Omega, but don't know anything for sure.
Thanks,
Steven

Good Morning, Steve,

I use a 90mm Omegaron for my 6 x 7 negatives. I bought the lens for a very low price (E-bay) a couple of years ago. It has proven completely satisfactory for prints up to 16 x 20, and I would not hesitate to use it for even larger prints if necessary; I can't distinguish any quality difference between the Omegaron and a 105mm El-Nikkor. I believe that the Omegaron is a "mid-level" lens which Rodenstock originally sold for somewhat less than the top-level Rodagon. (Good 90mm enlarging lenses--at least relatively modern ones--seem to be much less common than 75/80mm and 105mm lenses; I like it because it requires less enlarger head height for large prints than a 105mm does.)

I know nothing about the lens but it is good to see you around.
