Hello!

I’m working to clear fungus out of a rodenstock rodagon 50mm f2.8 lens… I’m needing to re-attach a loose element retainer/spacer lying below the aperture blades (please see the attached pictures). I’m not sure how to access this area in order to re-attach it, any tips?

Thanks much,

Barry

I made that mistake once, taking apart a 50mm 2.8 rodagon to clean haze. The iris fell out on my work desk, took me hours to put it back together. Have patience, work slowly, you'll get it back together.

Thanks for the encouragement randyB. Yes, it was haze that I too was clearing. I’m not going to quit on this lens!… remaining open to leads on how to get under the aperture blades. Thanks again.

Hi cowanw, the 2 pictures show the front and rear of the same piece. I’m not sure how to disassemble either side to get to the loose metal retainer for re-attachment. It looks like the only entry would be on the side showing the aperture blades.
