Want to Buy rodenstock 50mm enlarger lens cap

I have a nice rodenstock 50mm enlarger lens but no cap. Does anyone have an extra?

Don't have a 50mm Rodenstock, however if you know what size it takes, you should be able to get something that works from B&H. I know the cap for my 150mm APO Rodenstock has the little spring loaded ears, however a slip on of the right size should work. Bill Barber

Chances are it's M40.5x0.5 as this is the most common one for Rodenstock lenses. You should be able to get lens caps, albeit possibly not genuine Rodenstock, for virtually nothing on Evilbay. See http://www.photocornucopia.com/1061.html for filter thread specs for various lenses including Rodenstock.

One way is to use snap-on filter-ring caps. With the spread of small digital cameras they are now available in smaller sizes too.
Another is the use of push-on caps. They still are available new (from Heliopan in a great variety of diameters).

A quick check on ebay doesn't support your argument & I really wouldn't place a plastic cap at that kind of value. But I admire your entrepreneurship.

For clarification, the M40.5x0.5 I mentioned earlier is the filter thread of the lens so relates to the spring/release caps that fit into the filter thread.
