hi guys! It's been a long time since I last posted in the group.

but I wanted to ask you something about the Rodenstock rodagon f4.5 enlarger lenses.
How does this f5.6 compare to f4?

Does anyone have any experience with this lens, because there isn't much information about it.

its the one with the red stripe by the way

Best regards

Which focal length are you asking about?

FYI, the first post in this https://www.largeformatphotography....to-look-for-information-on-LF-(mainly)-lenses discussion contains a link to a list of useful links. The list has the useful link you want, to Rodenstock brochures. One of the brochures gives, among other things, MTF and distortion curves for some, probably not all, Rodagons and Apo-Rodagons.

I have this lens but there is no red stripe on mine. It is the 80mm so designed to cover up to 6x6. In terms of extra light when focussing the f4 will be better but f5.6 is good enough, especially if you focus with the safelight in the "off" position

Maybe the one with a red stripe is different?

I have both the 5.6 and 4, at F8 to 11 both are sharp with good coverage from edge to edge. I tend to use the F only because it is brighter when focusing.
