With the encroaching fall, I was wondering if anyone in the area or reasonable driving distance, would like to get together to do some landscape shooting along the Mississippi River? I have just about every Tuesday day free. Let me know.

Hi, Jnash67, I live in Burlington, about 1hr driving south of Quad Cities. I only have time at weekends though. I am also interested into taking pictures along Mississippi River, you know any nice spots in this area? I know The Illinois side of the river from Keokuk to Nauvoo is beautiful.

I was born and raised in Quincy, Il and have spent so much time in Burlington, Keokuk and Ft. Madison that I can't recollect it all. I had actually forgotten about Nauvoo and will have to drag my budddy down there for some photography. I am in the Milwaukee area now...EC

Welcome back, I actually moved from Madison, WI last year.

Blueice,
I just got around to rechecking my post! My weekends are taken up with family usually. But I would love to come you're way to check it out. Originally from Michigan, I feel this area of the country is somewhat forgotten as far as history goes. You grow up reading about Huck and Twain, but I see no remanents.(my observation).

OH MILWAUKEE! My dad was born/raised there. So I used to go at least once a month to that town. My grandmother had a house in the Brewers' Hill district, and you could see Schlitz from her front stoop! Of course, it wasn't a historical area then, so things were different. Alot of preserved history there in Milwaukee. Have you ever gone to south 27th Street to Leon's Frozen Custard? THEE BEST CUSTARD in the world. Plus it's a great retro photo op with all that neon at night. Enjoy!

Just have to say...I went to Palmer College from 2000-2004. Davenport's not that bad of a place, but I think the winter is colder there than up here in Alaska!
Wish you all the best in the fall colors season there - that's where my daughter was born in '03.
Jed
