I am just sitting here watching an interesting documentary, Chasing Wild Horse on/by New York fashion photographer Roberto Dutesco on his passion for the wild horses on Canada's Sable Island. In this documentary, he has an impressive kit of film gear and several large bags of 120 and 35mm film. He has produced some beautiful images of a magical, forgotten landscape.
I have had an itch to visit Sable Island since I first heard of it in school in the 1960s. In later years I read Thomas Raddall's novel The Nymph and the Lamp, which is sit in the dying days of the Sable Island lighthouse.
The documentary airs again in Canada on June 1 at 8:00 P.M. on Bravo.
