tom yanul was one of the last banquet photographers in the USA..
many of the ULF (ultra large format / panoramic)cameras people use these days
had their origins as banquet cameras .. you know up way high on a tripod the photographer
on a massive ladder photographing a banquet hall filled with people.
he designed his own cameras, enlargers and would talk to you about photography
even if you were a greenhorn and clueless about ULF stuff and panoramic camera or darkroom work.
i was shocked to learn today that he passed awy in 2014 ( i get junk mail from him from time to time still )
