his work was mind blowing, more than just typical war correspondant stuff.
like most if not all war zone photographers he suffered from PTSD ...
his work was in a league of its own !

i know !

some of the greatest photographers who have lived have ended up pennyless ! ( or frankless )
atget .. his lives' work saved from a dumpster by his assistant ( bernice abbott from what i remember )
and john garo ( karsh's mentor ! ) was the karsh of his time, photograping the who's who ( including the president of the USA )
and being the first photographer to show in the london salon of art, world tour for gum over pt/pd written up in world wide photo mags ( he brought it back from the dead )
AND asked by george eastman to be in charge of the photo processing division of eastman kodak ( turned it down " im an artist not a technichian" )

another one, total bummer ...
