$500 + $70 shipping. Ries A 100 tripod.

The major problem with view camera use is using a lousy tripod. Just like having a sharp blade is the most important element in any saw, the tripod is the major factor in using a view camera

I've had this tripod for 3 years and have used it with 4x5 monorail cameras. It shows minimal signs of wear. It's very strong, and the legs can be reversed to utilize the rubber feet for indoor use. I've replaced the "staked" pins in the leg spread assembly with shoulder pins and locknuts (see photograph). The pins form the axle where the assembly flexes to set the spread angle. The staked pins loosen with time and eventually fall out. I changed them out twice before replacing them permanently with the shoulder pins. This modification will work well for you. I'm including both 1/4" and 3/8" tripod screws. It will hold any camera up to about 15 pounds. Richard Ritter told me he uses this model tripod for his Zone VI 8x10 camera.

If you're using an aluminum tripod for a view camera - you'll find that this tripod makes it easier and faster - an immediate improvement in its enjoyment and use.
