condencers are to match to focal length not brand of lens. If some one tells you this condencer is made for such and such lens and you have somthing different just don't tell the enlarger, it can't read. John

That may be true with some enlargers. It is not true with the Durst enlarger. Not only are condensers for a given focal length and manufacturer but also dependent, in the Durst, with the light source used.

Nodal point of a lens is dependent on lens design and on lens focal length.

The Durst manual describes the proper condensers for a given lens choice.

It is not a legally binding transaction in the eyes of the law, unless you pay $1, so do not ask for change!

Wiltw, did you realize that this post was from 2005? so 16 years ago, I'm sure the transaction might be complete by now... LOL.

The OP must have a really hard life if he has to spend $ 0.99 for a 5"x7" enlarger. Things must really suck for him! Oh that I should be so cursed!

And he hasn't been seen here since 2012...
He may have bought a lot more cheap enlargers since and decided to slip quietly away from us.. If he did and is now in the process of selling them then it is now his expensive yacht that slips quietly from its mooring in one of the Keys, Monte Carlo etc

He's probably spent the last 16 years looking for condensers and negative holders for 99 cents .... unsuccessfully.

I have (in my dining room) a Beseler 5X7 VMT with Vinette-o-Flex, etc which was purchased for $1.99 through ebay a few years ago. Truck trip from NC to VA added about $40 to the cost. Seller was eager to get rid of things cheap or free so I scored all kinds of goodies. The Bogen Salon studio stand for an additional $10 made the trip very worthwhile. The deals are still out there but this one was pure serendipity. The cable TV repair guy thought it was a drill press...

Do you make many enlargements in your dining room?

I told the wife about this auction I won today and all she could say is where are you going to put that thing? I say, " But honey you don't understand....."

You should have seen my wife when I came home with my second Beseler MXT and two more Speedotron 2400 packs...

With all the camera crap piled around there's no room to do anything in the dining room other than follow a very narrow path from one room to the next.

On this very day in 2015 I drove to Hamden Connecticut from Long Island NY and bought a fully functional Besler Dichro 67S and three huge boxes of darkroom equipment for $1.25. The home owner was moving to Florida and was anxious to get rid of the equipment. I've never used the enlarger as the one I own is superior but some of the other stuff has come in quite handy. Definitely worth the investment. Dined at a local brewery/pub. On the way out the door, the owner tried to sell me his broom.

I feel that the early to mid 2010s were the best time to find darkroom deals. the stuff was literally being thrown away en masse.
