I love unusual cameras and this is no exception. The Ricoh Auto 35
It was introduced in 1960 and in 1964 KMZ made a copy.....the Zorki 10
It has a fixed focus 40mm f2.8 lens, so everything is in focus from 5.5ft to infinity, it has a Selenium cell light meter, through the viewfinder at the bottom of the Bright frame is a red section if the needle enters the red then the photo will be underexposed. It's essentially an automatic camera although you can use it in a manual mode however the camera will not let you know the aperture or setting, you need to read the manual and work out the settings from the number you choose on the lens barrel dial.
Other quirky features, shutter release on the side of the lens barrel, shutter release cable screws into the side of the camera, Film advance lever is on the base of the camera, a la Canon Canonet, as is the film rewind lever. Also the film cartridge slots in the right side of the camera and winds Right to Left.
I have put a roll of film through the camera and gives good results leaving the camera to do the work.
I hope to be doing a full review of this camera soon.
I tried to upload an image but even a 300k image apparently is to big!!!!!
