Just found this little beauty in a thrift shop and picked it up for $1.50 (with flash).Seals are shot but the camera powers up using a hearing aid battery.
There's a switch near the bottom labeled "multi".What's it for & how do I use it? Found a french manual but that doesn't help this unilingual guy.
The mullt imight be for making multiple exposures. If that camera is like the little Ricoh 500G, you might have a real gem on your hands. A buddy of mine owned a 500G and the color 20 x 30 inch drugstore-lab poster prints he had made from its negs were pretty spectacular.
They're great cameras. I have a 500G and get great shots with it.
The original foam seals have always turned to goo when you get one these days, but I replaced mine using a foam kit from Jon Goodman (who trades on the world-famous auction site as 'Interslice') - it's an easy enough job.

You're right oscroft, the seals were like gummy bears.Once again Jon's light seal kit came to the rescue. In fact I just ordered another.
mAhdi, thanks for the explanation. The "multi" leaver was a bit stuck.A bit of work and now I can shoot multiple exposures.
You can download an owners manual from Butkus.org I found it quickly bu googleing "ricoh500G owners manual. I would have added the link for you, but I'm pretty stupid when it comes to doing these functions--I just happy to be able to navigate this site.
