Howdy,

So I recently noticed the lens on my Ricoh 500 is getting a little loose on one side (see pics). Does anyone know a fix?

Thanks,

Jamye

Before I knew much of camera repair I took my broken Ricoh 500 in 1976 to a camera shop to have a jammed shutter fixed and it was returned to me as unrepairable. Wonder if the same still holds true today? I don't know of a service manual. I still have mine but it's display only as I never was able to repair the shutter.

I've scoured the internet for all the manuals I could find and haven't seen anything about lens attachment. Que the nervous laughing.

It's been ages since I've worked on one of those, so here are a couple of general suggestions.
Look at the back of the lens/shutter through the back of the camera. You might see screwheads that need tightening.
If not, you'll need to peel back the front leatherettes by the shutter-standard, which will reveal screws securing the standard and focus-assembly. Remove those, pull off the standard, and work your way into where screws have loosened.
Good luck,
Mark Overton
