Thanks folks. I am currently in the process of deciding to buy this kit; your views of the product have been very helpful.

Yes, I do, and it does. You may need to do a bit of calibration with it to get it perfect on the first pass, but it will work with stained negs. I specifically do Pyrocat HD, but I have some older negs done with PMK that I have printed with it and it works with them as well.

I bought a Stop Clock Pro a couple of years ago and I am pretty sure I have more than recouped the cost. First you really do cut down on the amount of paper you use and if that only means one sheet a printing session over what I used to use and that adds up. Second, it allows you to achieve a finished print with much more precision in a lot less time. I have a limited amount of time in the darkroom each session (about 2 hours max) so efficiency is important.

I can't speak to any other brand of f-stop timer out there allthough I know a couple of people who use one made by Metrolux and really like it. But what ever brand, it is money well spent with pretty much all upside to the decision.

I bought the Analyser Pro last year and it really was worth every penny - I shoot weddings and this enables me to produce acceptable prints (probably better than I would get from the lab) in one go (usually!)

These days you are expeced to shoot very large volumes of reportage material at weddings and often I need to print many negatives. Without the Analyser I would have to either get the lab to do it or find some otherway.
