Does anyone use an RH Designs Analyser Pro with a condenser enlarger? I just noted the following in the manual that leads me to think that it might be a problem:

The standard built-in calibration suits Ilford Multigrade IV RC paper using a standard enlarger (tungsten/halogen lamp and diffuse illumination) and the Ilford Multigrade Filter Set (under- or above-lens)

It's no problem at all. It just means that you need to perform the calibration procedure as described in the manual. To get the best out of the analyser, you really should perform a calibration rather than just relying on the built-in cal settings. You just need the step wedge and density tablet that came with the timer, and a few pieces of paper. I found the videos on their website to be of great help. You also need to do this for every type of paper you use.

No problem at all. I switched from an Kaiser diffuser to an omega condenser. Had to do the calibration for the Omega, and the Analyser pro is as handy as with the diffuser.

Hello !
I own a Durst Laborator 1000 with the condenser head (ancestor of the 1200) and an Analyser Pro.
When I got it (years ago) I read this, as you did, and thought to give it a try.
Well the result was quite impressive ! Of course I calibrated it for the papers I use but out of the box it was *already* quite good !
So do not be worried ! Talking with Richard, he told me that I would have found greater discrepancy if I had used filters of another make than Ilford.
One calibration trick : if you want "quick and dirty" calibration get the unknown paper data sheet, calculate the paper speed ratio from Ilford's MG IV and set it in for exposure compensation, then input the contrast values into the contrast settings. Of course you'll need to fine tune the values, but it should be near good.
Hope this helps.

No problem, I use the anylser pro with a condenser enlarger and even straight out of the box it worked great, and the list of other papers is so close that the calibration adjustment is very slight, wouldn't want to print without it now,Richard
