Recently I acquired a Toyo 4 3/4 x 6 1/2 (half-plate) Grey metal colored field camera, which has a removable 4x5 revolving back on it. Very nice camera. I am curious about its age. Was there ever a 5x7 back? I wonder what time period this was made? Any clue where to look for a 5x7 back?

The features of this camera seem near identical to current Toyo field cameras, as in placement of the controls, and how you operate them.

I was recently surprised to find out that Toyo picked up the production of the Graflex Super Graphic press camera and manufactured it as the Toyo Super Graphic from 1979 thru 1985. One learns something every day.

Anyway, I can certainly use the camera "as-is" with the nice 4x5 revolving back, but I keep thinking how nice it would be to have a 5x7 back on a camera not very much bigger than a Super Graphic.

Does it have the half plate back? You can shoot that instead of 5x7 - Fuji still sells Acros in half plate (see postings on the plate camera forum) and some other films are available.

No, it just has a 4x5 back. I am only interested in 5x7 because I have a ton of film holders for that size, and none of the half-plate ones.

I've heard that the 5x7 backs existed for this camera, but never actually saw one. I'd also like to find one with a 5x7 back. Glennview Camera on this page, offers to make a 5x7 back. It would probably be $$$$. I bet there are others, like Richard Ritter, who could build one as well.
