Wondering how many people do it themselves?

I aligned my Fuji 670 and was pleased with the results, but unfortunately I'm not off to a good start with my bronica rf 645 as my screw driver is stripping the screws on the hot shoe.......anyways what are your thoughts? let a "professional" handle it or do it yourself? The reputable shop here in Toronto said it would be at least $100 CND which seems up surd to me for just take a bunch of screws off then adjusting a main one....am i missing something?

I had to do a little tweaking to my M2 not long ago and figured I'd have to send it off. I shot an email to Youxin Ye to see if he could do it and he said yes but told me how to do it myself and what size and kind of screwdriver to use. It was a piece of cake and kudos to him for explaining how easy it was.

The Japanese cameras don't use Phillips head screws. They use a JIS type. This has a more rounded point that seats into the screw.

Is your frustration $100 worth? No one can answer but you.

Take care.

For sure. I took it in anyways. I guess I was just frustrated because it took me 15 minutes to align my Fuji one so I didn't know why they would charge "at least $100". Maybe theres more to it but it seemed like a very simple process to me. Cheers.

Because they have the knowledge, skill, and patience to not butcher it up.

$100 these days?

That's nothing to make sure something as critical as rangefinder alignment is correct.

If I could get mine adjusted anytime I wanted for $100.00 I'd be on that like flies on rice.

Well he knows how to get inside without wrecking it. Now that you ruined the screws, he has to replace them. So you pay for his place of business rent & skill.
Could be someone Locktited them in so they need to drilled out, recapped, and replaced. Quote needs to be high enough to cover all this or he makes no money.
