There is a darkroom door on eBay, local pickup in WI. I know SWMBO will never let me get it, at least not right now, but some of you may be intereste. It is not far from Chicago, either. (In northern Racine.)

Having installed one just a couple of months ago, I can very highly recommend revolving darkroom doors. I also just got a copy of "The New Darkroom Handbook" and they say "Doors. The ultimate door is a revolving one, but most people cannot afford the expense." So, if the price is right, go for it. Mine was a bargain.

I saw one for sale on Craigslist within the past week or two in Atlanta. I think it was $200.

one suggestion - Check the size of your entryway doors. I bought a door recently and had to take it apart to get it into the house. and let me say they are not easy to take apart.

I found a give-away one on Craigslist in Minneapolis, but by the time I could confirm size and ability to get where I want it it was gone.

This one was 36" wide. I could not fit it through any of the interior doors (without taking it apart).

Mine stood in our hallway for about eight months while a new laundry was built so that the old laundry could become the new darkroom. It also just fitted into my father-in-law's vehicle when we picked it up. It is truly built like a brick s#ithouse. Many visitors asked what this strange item was.

The one I bought 2 years ago is still on the back porch. I bought it off of evilBay for $10 (+ $150 shipping- they're big!). I asked the seller to measure the size when I bid on it... Unfortunately she measured the opening of the door, not the size of the door opening it was to fit in. She told me it was 36", which would have fit perfectly in the doorway to my darkroom, but when it arrived the door opening size was 50"... You could hear my wife laughing from blocks away!

Anyone in Idaho need a (large) darkroom door?

You have still done very well, for $160 USD.

Never thought of a revolving door for a darkroom, but it makes sense under the right conditions. It did spark a memory though. I was fortunate enough to take a printing workshop under Howard Bond many years ago. As I recall, his darkroom was designed with no door. Now that was handy.

I do John! Just about ready to build my new darkroom out of the third bay of my garage.
