it's been ages since i've used tmax 100, so forgive me if my question is out of date ....... it was my understanding that the current formulation of tmax 100 (120mm as well as sheet film) is unsuitable for pt/pd printing because of a uv blocking layer built into it ..... is this true?

Yes, Tmax-100 has a UV coating that blocks a bit more than three full stops of light.

TMY (Tmax-400) does *not* have the UV blocking coating.

I thought it was only the sheet film sizes of TMY which don't have the UV block?

That is correct. The sheet film sizes of TMY do not have the UV blocking.
Not sure about 35mm and 120 TMY.

Tmax-100 in 120 size does have the UV blocking for sure. I just checked a roll of Tmax-100 and it measured log 1.80, which is six full stops.

is there any way to remove this? When I use the transparency side of Fuji FP100-C instant film, I have the same problem with alternative processes. I'd love to be able to strip it somehow. ideas?
