On Firefox Windows10, the text only slightly dips into the dark grey.
Same with Chrome/Windows10.

And not to be critical, because I like both the images and the stories,,, but you seem to have a minor typo: "Boatbuilding...Wiscassette, Maine". Wiscasset and New Harbor are two of my favorite Maine towns (If you can call New Harbor a town).
