I got a 210 at Urban Outfitters today. What a crazy looking beast but a lot of fun! I took a few shots around the mall. Definitely love the larger prints over my mini camera. I wish they would build a proper instax wide camera like the Neo 90 but I guess that is not happening anytime soon.
They do have a new wide coming out this spring. The 300. It's a little more "modern" looking with buttons in different places and has a tripod socket. Though likely identical to the 210 otherwise I suspect.
IIRC, there's a push button switch on the side control panel of the 210 Wide that turns the flash on when extra fill is needed, but the camera will automatically use flash otherwise as needed.
This is especially troublesome at photographing far away objects (like large houses) at lesser ambient light level.
Instead of giving some warning sign and setting a long exposure time (as many consumer cameras do), the Instax Wide goes into the flash mode, what in this circumstance will yield an underexposed photograph and makes the camera useless in such situations.
