I have a newly acquired russian rangefinder, a Moskba-5. The camera seems to operate just fine, I can't detect any bellows problem using a bright flashlight. But I'm seeing the strangers film problem I've experienced.

At the first frame end of the negative, i see a faint, thin dark line on the negative. (This is Delta 100 - but I'm seeing it on Delta 400 too) Once the line hits a dark/dense part of the negative, i see a wider faint lighter line through the image. As if the line is reverse from the negative. The line goes through most of the length of the negative, towards the end it becomes too difficult to detect.

I'm using 1:25 Rodinal, Kodak stop, and Ilford Rapid Fix as I've always used. Granted, it's been a while since I've developed roll film, but this seems way too wonky.

Any ideas? Anybody seen this?

hi jss,

I had similar problems a while ago albeit with 35mm. Mine was a water marking problem. I solved it by purchasing a new paterson film squeegee. (multi bladed and much softer than my old Jobo one). I use Mirasol (the Tetenal version of Photoflo), in the final wash as well. Hope this helps.

Best wishes, John.
