Doing a bit of digging for some projects and I’d like to know if anyone knows of a way to essentially do an emulsion lift from slide film. Lots of info about lifting with Polaroid and other instant film but I’m specifically interested in lifting from color slides. Thanks in advance for your help.
I have tried all kinds of different organic solvents, including Acetone and DMSO, and got nowhere. The one compound i found at least capable of damaging the emulsion is Hydrogen Peroxide plus a source of copper/iron ions.
One possible venue could be causing degradation of acetate film base, no idea whether this can be made to work in a reasonable time frame.
Since it is a transparency, any "lift" of the emulsion would essentially be the film itself. All you would be doing is removing the base, which is transparent.
