Hi,
I have a Revere 33 which suffers from the (apparently) common problem of a film advance issue. So far into a film (the number of exposures varies) the advance becomes graunchy and processing shows the frames overlapping. Until that point they are fine.
The little information I can find on the web suggests that a clean and relubrication of the gears/mechanism may be all that is necessary. I'm quite happy to attempt this and have so far removed the Bristol spline grub screws securing the advance/rewind knobs and the focussing dial. I've removed the two machine screws either side of the top plate under the knobs. However, at this point the top plate doesn't seem to want to shift. I'm guessing that there may be a third screw underneath the brown leatherette covering but the camera is cosmetically in excellent condition and so before disturbing the covering possibly unnecessarily I thought I'd ask in case anyone knows for sure.
Any help would be appreciated. (I've messaged the poster of the message regarding the Revere rangefinder adjustment but so far haven't heard anything).
Best wishes,
Steve
