"After finding his grandfather’s old travel photos, Australian David Tomkins used the public’s help to track down exactly where they were shot. Now his attempt to retrace Grandpa’s steps is nearing its conclusion."

"From Florence to Hong Kong, Sydney to New York, he zigzagged the world recreating each of the shots with a Voigtländer camera, just as his grandfather had used in the mid-1960s."

Pretty amazing story....

That's really cool! I love that he's gone around and shot new versions with a Voigtlander - that's just great. Art, I don't know if you saw my thread here a couple of years ago - I have a bunch of a negatives that my great-grandfather shot in Europe on his honeymoon (well, some may have been done by my great-grandmother - she became a painter, but also took some pictures). I posted a couple to figure out where they were shot. I wish I had the time and money to go retrace their steps.
