Hi all

Looks like the new version of Kodak H35 half frame camera was just released

Cool! You spend $65 or $50 for the camera and $30 for the film case and to fill the film case it would cost more than the price of the camera and the film case.

I saw a RRP of $65 for the camera but no mention of a case. Where is this mentioned? A half frame camera still represents "value per frame" doesn't it?

Maybe your point was the cost of film per se, was it?

Thanks

Go to the first link provided. Click on pre order. Scroll down you see the lower price version of $50 and then the film case. The case is a box that can hold 10 rolls of film. The cost of 10 rolls of fim would be more than $100. I meant film is so expensive so I wouldn't want to waste them in cheap cameras.

No need to waste film in cheap cameras. You can just shoot film in cheap (or expensive) cameras.

Film case is not required either.

The good NEWS is that the price on the original H35 will soon be dropping like a lead balloon. I've already seen them on EBAY for under $20 -- not that I'll be interested. But some people like the results.

Thanks for the price of the film case. Is each person using the pre-order automatically having to commit to the film case? It doesn't look that way to me. It looks as if you can tick it as part of the order or not as the case may be. If the buyer has no choice then whatever you or I think about this tactic I presume that once this camera is on open sale no buyer is committed to the film case.

You or I may not want to use film in a cheap and limited camera but many people will and as I said, provided it suits their style of photography and gives them double the amount of negatives from the same film then there is a saving on the cost of film and that is one of the attractions that will help sell these cameras
