Right in the midst of a shoot my Retina IIIC died in typical Retina fashion--the winding mechanism died. Can fellow members of APUG suggest a competent repair service in North America who can fix a Retina. The meter, rangefinder, viewfinder and lens are in perfect condition and although the camera would make an attractive paperweight, I do enjoy using the camera. Please tell me your experiences and who you would recommend currently repairing Retinas. The cameras are a charm when working.

Thoroughly recommend Chris - I've used him from UK.

Also, the rack in the 3C isn't too difficult to get to if you have worked on cameras before and you can still get a replacement here http://www.micro-tools.de/en/Camera-Parts/Kodak/ I have bought one of these in the past and they do fit although not sure the metal quality is quite original spec. If the rack failed due to other pressures in the linkage though, not much point just replacing the rack. Bite the bullet, pay for Chris to repair and CLA, and that camera is good for another 50 years of use!
