Reset Nikon F100 Film Counter

I opened the film door and cut part of the film. Then I put the film back in the camera. But the original counter stays. How can I reset the film counter back to "1" again?

I did rewind the film without any film inside and the counter reset to E. Is there another way to do it?

Well as we recall on our F2, you have to run the full roll through and rewind it to reset counter.
Done what your doing when we were testing the new P-30 ,, for development ect,. Would take a couple of shots and then cut, removed and reattached spool feeder that was wound on take up real, with tape. Closed camera and made a note, on what shot we were at,.on blank piece of paper that was inserted in the slot, that usually held the info on what film your were shooting,

Well, as I updated. Just rewind the film w/ or w/o film inside. Then the counter resets to E. Not sure if there is other way to do it.

Like Peter K said, cut a leader off a dud roll or make a leader section equal to the length of the taper +2 frames and attach it to the end of the roll you cut.

The F100 will start counting at one just beyond the splice. Of course, unless you do this in total darkness, the new frame 1 will be fogged.

There is no simple way to reset the counter manually to "1".
