Over the Easter Break I rescued some 3"x5.5" FB Postcard wet prints from the local market.

I would really like to know if anyone recognises the photographers stamp as the prints are very well printed and also if someone could translate the intended address on one of the pictures I'd be very greatful. My knowledge of German is zero so I can't read the handwriting in order to start searching.

They appear to all have been shot during the Second World War and I imagin they were carried by a solder on service away from home as a reminder of his family.

I'm thinking that after 60 years it might be nice to see them go back home as intended if I can.

Sorry about the tint on the attachments as I haven't the energy to calibrate my scanner at this time of night.

Don't read German, but the address is somewhere in Stein, Limburg, The Netherlands (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse....=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&zm=1&scale=100000).

Bob.

[Edit] Narrowed it down to the street: No. 9 Kerkstraat, Stein, Limburg, The Netherlands (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse....t=&limit=&overviewmap=&scale=5000&lang=&db=NL)

There is more than one Kerkstraat in Stein - I'm guessing Kerk = church, so not surprising there is more than one Church Street....

Aint the Internet wunnerfull!

Thank you kindly Bob :D The "No. 9 Kirkstraat" I was really struggling with and tried almost every combination but that one. Hopefully it's still the family home or at least a starting point as there was a young child in one of the pictures.

Hello Tony,

You could contact Stein townhall: info@gemeentestein.nl The registry office might be able to find that person.
Regards
Hans

Hans and Ole ... Many Thanks for the additional information, this thread should give me plenty go get me started and maybe who knows the pictures may soon hopefully find their rightful owner once again
