Can anyone who has a durst M670 give me external dimension (L x W) of backing plate in mm? (The backing plate is on the backside of the baseboard, holding bolts for the column)
Mine came without the backing plate and just one bolt! They used to use it for wall projection that way.
P.S. I did try googling and did a site search here too.
since you have the baseboard with the holes in it, you should be able to measure the square from the center of the holes and then add enough all round so that the plate is just less than flush with back of baseboard. That should be good enough if you are making one for yourself.
The plates need to be quite thick so there is no danger of it bending under the leverage fro the column. No thinner than 4mm I would guess. Maybe 5mm.
I should have a spare baseboard as I scrapped an M601 a few years ago, I know I brought the baseboard with me when I moved last year. I'll try and look later today.
The M670 base board is the same, I used my M601 and later M670 wall mounted with an adjustable bench top which I could slot in at different heights.
Thanks for the offer of the baseboard. Actually I have the baseboard, it is the metal backing plate (reinforcement plate) on the lower side of baseboard.
There are M670 manuals available on web somewhere for download. I have one but its in french. From following you can get an idea of its size.
The plate should be rigid steel and not aluminium which is too flexible.

One of my M605 enlargers had its one missing and came with the wrong bolts. I found replacement bolts from my local iron monger and used a couple of washers.
The thing about baseboards are the missing feet as well !

I did find the bolts locally (though not SS), but could not find oversized washers. Small washers would not be able to distribute the load over large are and there is a change of damage to baseboard. Hence the plate. Mine does have all the feet.
Did you look for "Fender washers"?
Assuming you are in the U.S. you likely won't find them in metric sizing, but you should be able to find inch-sized ones that are sufficiently close to the size of the bolts in most well stocked hardware stores.
Or, order from McMaster-Carr; http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-washers/=zr5skg
Thanks Bdial for pointer to "Fender Washers". Unfortunately I am in India. . My enlarger came with one Fender Washer so I did scout a local market for and I could not find it. It was after that I decided on getting the plate fabricated. I did find bolts which are available here in both metric as well as inches (less popular)
BTW, I have decided to increase width to 90mm from 60mm.
Thanks everyone for the help. I should have the plate (and enlarger) ready by next week.
