Forgive my total ignorance in Chemistry. I'd like to replenish the black kallitype developer from B&S which I believe uses Ammonium Citrate. Unfortunately, I'm unable to source it in Japan, but I came across Ammonium hydrogen citrate (citrate dibasic) from a seller on e---y. Will this work?
Many thanks for any advice.

Black kallitype developer from b&s uses 100g sodium acetate and 3g tartaric acid in 1l of water. I have asked them the exact same question. If you can't source sodium acetate you may make it from acetic acid and sodium carbonate. I haven't done that myself though.
God luck

Many thanks, Jens. I always thought that B&S used Ammonium Citrate, but the Sodium Acetate makes sense because of the colour. I have a new bottle of Sodium Acetate and have just mixed up a batch with tartaric acid. Now I can replenish the other bottle.
Thanks again.
