Replacing RB67 Bellows - how to?

hi paul,
thanks for your replay i didnt started yet becuse i want to wait for the bellowe to come from ebay, anyway, i looked at those screws and opend one from inside very easily, no problem. so i can replace him without taken rail out hopefully.

hi paul,
i got the bellowes from ebay today and i see that it is a very cheap one with no black Transparent fabric from the inside, but i am going to use it anyway, i wonder if i can use a regular white glue or use a tape like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Sup...hash=item3a707abf1f:m:mVW4EF7zAxwZEGYBpiZxKjA

no glue. put in light seal foam on both ends. i guess the double sided tape may substitute for the foam. the bellows are held in by the metal n screws. the seals make up for the gaps because of how bellows are folded, 2 sides will be higher.

from what i see the front side are held by sliding the
square metal into the top and bottom wings, after that the screws on the squere can hold the bellows. the back side of the belowes canot held by the screws its must be attached and glued by any foam or some 2 sides tape glue and only then after its sealed by the foam or tape i can screw it to the body/ please let me now if i am doing right.

OH OH OH... I see now... to attach the metal plate to the bellows... use contact cement, or black RTV silicon, or plibond.

ok, i think i will use black RTV silicon.
i mentioned last post that i got this bellowe and its without the black Transparent fabric from ehe inside, and as more the time is passing i fill disappointed of the matireal, i contact rhe seller and he said that he can accept reterning and i steel whant to consider it day or two.
i will be glad to now what do you think about the missing Transparent fabric?

fire the camera so the mirror is up
extend the front standard all the way out
now with the camera looking up at you (sit it on a foam pad)
there are 4 screws, one at each corner, on the body side of the bellows take em all out

Hi Paul

I have found your post. Thanks for this. Where are these 4 screws? I have taken the lens off and extended out fully the bellows but where are they? I can only see screws on the bottom of the camera (4x) and another 4x around the tripod mount.

My original non-s RB67 has worn bellows esp around the corners. On Flickr they suggested 3M Black Weatherstrip Adhesive to patch my 1 pinhole on the corner, I applied the 3M stuff to other corners as well since they were getting worn but now I have the original pinhole back and I have another pinhole. When you retract the bellows in the adhesive gets squashed up and when you expand them they might get stretched - even thou 3M say their product is flexible.

As a recap, I need adhesive foam strips? I have those 3M strips from replacing the film back's light seals - would they be ok?

Ray, the RB67 Pro-S parts catalog shows the bellows on page 5. There are two views, which describe the screws location. Either the butkus or the helluin site has the manual, I don't recall where I found it a while ago.

I may try liquid electrical tape if that work. Thing is the bellow replacements cost 85% as much as another 'delivered' to my door RB67 body no DIY required. Also potentially a newer Pro S body. I have the older original one.

Any solution ? to be able to remove and change the bellows?

You call that "bad"? That's "near mint" condition to me!

If it has no pinholes or leaks or some signs that it will break soon, there's no reason to change it.

El problema es que no se pliega al cerrar y no permite enfocar al infinito. ¿Alguna forma de corregir los pliegues?
