Replacing print tong tips - has anyone tried "Plasti Dip"

I have a number of bamboo & stainless steel print tongs all missing the rubber tips - has anyone tried using Plasti Dip to form new tips and if so how did it work?

i've used it on tool handles, never had a problem - durable and long lasting. I didn't know it as peelable though, I never tried to peel it off.

The original tips on steel and bamboo tongs were made using a similar material. I've considered getting some myself., but then realized I didn't care enough. I'm sure it would work well.
