Some of the back lens caps for my TX-1 lenses are on the loose side. They are so loose that I am certain that they will fall off easy while my lenses are in a camera bag traveling.
Is there any place I can buy replacement covers? I'm talking exclusively about the cap that covers the lens mount, the the front cover.
I'd had to have one of these pop off in my camera bag, exposing the rear element while I am traveling for many hours.
I was hoping that someone would be able to help me with this problem. One week from today I start a 12 day Asian trip and am nervous about taking these very expensive lenses with me.
Barring a better solution, I would stash them in ziplock baggies with a desiccant pack.
Alternatively, you could pack a tiny bit of gaffers tape just where the cap should snug down. I did this to my old FD lens hoods, worked fine for several years. Then of course keep your eyes open for the caps on ebay and keh.
Even if that was the right part, $50 is a tough pill to swallow. Instead, I found two rubber bands large enough to cover the whole 90mm lens and keep the lens cap nice and tight. A far more cost effective solution. I have spent enough on this camera! They guy I bought this camera from drove a hard bargain!
