I recently acquired a Kostiner 11x14 archival washer, which the seller had thrown out the old hose that supplied the washer with water. They also threw out the adapter that allowed the hose to firmly connect to the washer. Does anyone know what is the correct size adapter for it? Is it metric and not imperial? I've tried 3/8" and that's too loose, and 1/2" and that's too big.
The problem isn't a hose, but the fitting. Hoses are flexible, and so long as the hose isn't TOO much bigger or smaller I can make it fit. The issue is the adapter that connects the hose to the washer.
The most simple adaptation would be wrapping the stud with adhesive tape (best textile tape) to build up necessary diameter, push over the hose and put on a hose clamp. As the Kostiner fittings seem all from plastic, be careful with the clamp tensioning.
As there will not be high water-pressure on that connection, and as the washer is standing in a sink there are no high requirements on tightness anyway. But the connection must be firm enough to prohibit the hose from accidentially coming off.
