Hi, Folks and Happy New Year, by the way. Merry Christmas, too. I can still say that. At least I think that's one of the messages in Dickens "A Christmas Carol," isn't it?
Sadly dishonesty and fraud put an end to the general kits and sadly old Jon can't show up and remove all the gunk from everyone's camera, but I can work with you on creating more kits, and I'm happy to do that. Even though I receive as many as 200 email messages a day, I do my best to answer them all.
Also, I still have the finest camera foam I've seen in the 52+ years I've been involved with cameras and it is backed with the world's finest rubber-based adhesive. That is very expensive stuff with the trouble the dollar has suffered, and what I require is a sandwich adhesive (meaning a thin membrane in the center prevents the foam from changing size when the backing paper is removed. NASA uses this, too, by the way. For those who haven't seen the 1.6mm felt I'm using now, I have it vinylized so it resists shedding better than anything I've ever seen and it has a better rebound ability...lest anyone think I'm not still working on improvements.
Somebody mentioned the Bronica SQ-A kit...I have already made that kit, but I don't list it on eBay since it sells infrequently. The RB67 is another I've now got again (two of the cutters I use broke last fall and it took me 3 months to repair them). What else...Pentax 6x7. I have that one, but I've not been able to catch up enough to cut a stock of pieces (I still work at 2 jobs). Ricoh KR30SP. Early Canonet, RZ67 film back/carrier, Leica R4, 5 6. Working on the Fuji GSW690 II. XA second series (models 3 and 4). Canon Pellix. Chinon CE-3. Canon T-70. Small Hi-Matic (like the F). And maybe a few that don't come to mind quickly. Oh, yes...one of the Kowa backs...the Super 66. That one requires some time, but I did correct a design flaw on it. Please contact me if you need any of these, but be sure to include a subject line on your email. Email that goes to the spam folder seldom gets pulled back out.
Thank all you folks for your loyalty and support. It means quite a bit to me. I wish I had time to visit and contribute to the forum, but for right now I don't. If there is a camera you're working on which isn't going to be popular enough to justify making a kit for, that's ok. I'm happy to send you off-cuts of foam, etc that you can use to repair it. All you have to do is send me an email (either to
Jon_Goodman@yahoo.com or
jgood21967@aol.com). Images of what you're doing will help. A description will help. Thicknesses needed will help.
I've got to run for now...more work to do.
Take care and best regards,
Jon Goodman
