Hi !
I used to shoot Fortepan 200 B&W film in 4x5 in its Classic incarnation.
I liked the "old look" and quite good image quality. It was my film for experiments, as it was cheap.
Now, Forte has hit the dust, so has the Classic label too.
So what will I use ? Any ideas, suggestion ?
TIA !

I just ordered a big box of the Arista.edu from Freestyle that is made by Foma. Same ISO, almost the same price. (Within a dollar or two). Have no idea how it performs yet, as I still have about 2000 sheets of ISO 200 Arista.edu (Made in Hungary) which is Forte 200. I would try this new Arista (labeled) Foma emulsion, if I were you.

I've found similarities between the Foma 400 and the Classic 400, pretty close, so differences is a bit of hairsplitting.

Isn't the Fortepan 200 4x5 still available? I just ordered two boxes from B&H last night, unless the "Classic incarnation" you mentioned is something other than what is available currently. Can you please enlighten me?

Best wishes,
Sanjay

Yes, there are stock remaining, but production has stopped in January, if I'm right.
The Classic brand is/was rebadged Forte film sold by Fotoimpex and Retrophotographic.
I've some boxes left. But I'm a bit slow, so I try to find a replacement before my stock dries up.
