Happy New Year all.
I've been doing some repairs on a few cameras and learning a lot about the inner workings and acquiring a few tools. I'm definitely on a learning curve and enjoying the ride.
I have been shooting videos of these repairs and posting them on my YouTube channel and I'd like to share them here.

Here's the first one on a classic.

The first time I touched a real camera was this one, back in grade 7... 1975! I remember it took screw mount lenses. I teach high school photography, and we have about 40 K1000's. About 10 are not working due to various issues. Some of them have metres that don't work. Maybe I'll try opening up one and see if I can fix it myself. Thank you for your video! I subscribed, by the way...

Thanks for watching and for the sub Andrew. That camera in 1975 was a Spotmatic. They had M42 screw on lenses. Those lenses were great.
The meter problem on K1000s is pretty common I guess. The battery compartment gets all corroded if a battery goes bad and leaks.

I've got a Pentax MX that I'll be doing a video on soon. It had a slow shutter issue and a few other things that needed help. I took it out today on a road trip loaded with a roll of B&W 400 film. Great camera!
