I recently dug out my Kodak 850H projector to play with. It worked for probably just one minute then it stopped advancing or backward of slides. It looked like a dreaded broken plastic link issue of Kodak projectors. So I bought a repair kit which contains the plastic link and a locking pin for the link. It took me a good 3 to 4 hours of time to finally get it replaced. Sure enough the original plastic link was broken into pieces inside the projector. So I was so glad that the replacement went well. Well, it did not work. I could hear the solenoid clicking but still no slide advance or backward still. Does anyone have any experience in this kind of repair? I am pretty sure the new plastic link was successfully installed. So what could be still wrong? The projector is otherwise in beautiful condition. I really hope to be able to fix it. Thanks for any advices. Sorry this is not a repair of a camera. But this subforum is the only repair forum in Photrio so I post this here.

You will need to adjust the position of the solenoid. After loosening the solenoid mounting plate you can move it up or down to find the correct spot that allows forward and reverse operation.

Thanks a lot for the great tip. That's exactly what I need to do. I already tried it but I could not find the sweet spot. I settled at a spot that the projector will advance slides reliably but the reverse button sometimes will advance the slides too. If I lower the plate a little more the reverse would be reliable but not the advance. I guess the reverse function isn't critical to me. So I will set it to do advance reliably. Thanks again for the tip.
