Hi, just picked up a mint appearance very early Pentax AP, branded as a Tower 26, with the original preset lens. It "tries" to function and winds smoothly, the 1/500 works but on other settings the second curtain drags at the end and the curtains are fairly wrinkled. I don't think I wanna try the slow speeds lol. It clearly needs a good CLA (after 70 years that is no shock) but seems worthy of the investment. I know some people specialize in certain brands/models, is there a "early pentax" guy I should be sending this to? Thanks in advance. It really is a nice looking camera!

John Titterington out in Kansas is THE MAN. Very reasonable and quick on mechanical SLRs. Only a couple days.
If you are interested in getting your camera repaired you can reach him at JTCamera@aol.com
Not sure if he does Towers but ask!

I have used both men and they both do excellent work. You won't go wrong with either one.
